Dreame Matrix 10 Ultra Review: Clean Floors Without the Slurry

I tested the Dreame Matrix 10 Ultra to see if its automatic mop swapping, 30,000 Pa suction, and 100°C dock justify the steep price tag.

The single most useful thing about the Dreame Matrix 10 Ultra is that it stops your robot from dragging bathroom bacteria directly into your kitchen. By automatically swapping between three dedicated pairs of mop pads inside the dock, it fixes the dirt smear problem that plagues almost every other cleaning robot. If you have a large home with a mix of thick rugs, hard floors, and messy rooms, this robot actually cleans instead of spreading the grime around.

Most robotic cleaners look brilliant in promotional videos where the studio floor is already spotless. Then you put them in an actual house with door sills, stray charging cables, and cracker crumbs, and as I said in my video, "your smart robot suddenly acts like it needs therapy." The Matrix 10 Ultra was clearly built to avoid that exact meltdown.

Hardware specs and what arrives in the box

Straight out of the box, Dreame included something that caught me completely off guard. You get three full bottles of dedicated floor cleaning solution. Usually, brands make you buy tiny, expensive bottles separately or hand you a single sample sachet that barely lasts two cleaning cycles. As I put it during unboxing, "You even get free cleaning liquids. I never see this at all."

Underneath the shell, the engineering is aggressive. The motor produces up to 30,000 Pa of suction power, which is absurdly high for a robotic vacuum. It also has a retractable D-ToF LiDAR sensor module on top. When the robot needs to squeeze beneath low-clearance dressers or TV stands, the turret retracts down into the body, lowering the total robot height to just 89 mm.

The front navigation relies on an AI camera system combined with 3D structured light. Dreame rates it to identify and dodge more than 240 different everyday objects. Underneath sits the HyperStream detangling dual roller brush system. It carries official certification for completely detangling human and pet hair up to 50 cm in length, which prevents that awful scenario "when hair usually turns a robot into a furry wheel of sadness."

Here are the standout hardware specifications:

  • 30,000 Pa rated suction power
  • Retractable D-ToF LiDAR sensor that lowers total height to 89 mm
  • 3D structured light AI vision recognizing over 240 obstacle types
  • HyperStream dual roller brush certified for hair up to 50 cm
  • Docking station holding 3 sets of interchangeable mop pads
  • 100 degree Celsius hot water mop washing with 20 spray nozzles
  • Auto-emptying 3.2-liter dust bag rated for up to 100 days

How the all-in-one dock manages maintenance

Robots that require twenty minutes of scrubbing after doing a fifteen-minute clean completely defeat the purpose of automation. The dock for the Matrix 10 Ultra is massive, but it takes care of virtually every messy maintenance chore on its own.

Inside the wash tray, 20 high-pressure spray nozzles blast the mop pads with water heated up to 100 degrees Celsius. That boiling water dissolves dried coffee, kitchen cooking oil, and grease much faster than room-temperature water ever could. Once the washing cycle ends, the base station blows warm air over the pads until they are completely dry, which stops mold and sour smells from developing in your utility room.

The dock also dispenses detergent automatically from the reservoir, refills the clean water tank inside the robot, and extracts dust into a 3.2-liter sealed bag. That bag holds roughly 100 days of dirt before you need to touch it. When I say this thing is built for real homes, I mean it also handles a lot of annoying after-work that normally comes with a robot vacuum cleaner.

Spills, carpets, and high door thresholds in real tests

To see how the software thinks, I tested it against a nasty spill combining liquid milk, coffee, and dry crumbs on the floor. A lot of cheaper combo robots simply charge forward, driving their vacuum roller straight through the puddle. That turns dry dust into a sticky brown mud that coats the internal airway and smears the floor.

The Matrix 10 Ultra did not do that. It uses sensible cleaning logic: it vacuums the dry crumbs around the puddle first, backs off, drops its mop pads down, and then scrubs away the liquid mess. The studio floor was left clean without wet streaks trailing into adjacent areas.

When dealing with carpets, the companion app offers complete control. You can instruct the robot to lift its mop pads automatically when driving onto low-pile rugs. For deep shag or high-pile carpets where lifting the pad still risks dampening the fibers, the robot can return to the dock, detach the mop pads entirely, and head out strictly as a vacuum.

Door thresholds are where many competitors fail completely. In my studio doorway test, I set up a tall, stepped obstacle to see if the drive wheels would surrender. As I noted in the video, "Robots look brave until they meet one raised doorway, and suddenly they turn into a robot philosopher, just sitting there thinking about life."

The Matrix 10 Ultra can clear obstacles up to 3.15 inches high. It lifted its drive mechanism, found traction, and stepped right over the ledge without asking for help. In cable avoidance tests, its front AI camera noticed loose electrical cords and steered cleanly around them instead of swallowing them like a hungry goat.

Smart home setup with Google Assistant and Matter

If you use Google Home, setup takes about two minutes. You link your Dreame account, and you can immediately tell Google Assistant to clean the kitchen or vacuum under the dining table. Voice commands respond fast and direct the machine to specific mapped zones without hitching.

The packaging mentions the Matter smart home protocol, but there is a detail you need to know before buying. Matter support is not live on day one. It requires an over-the-air firmware update scheduled for release later. As I explained in the review, "Matter comes with an upcoming OTA update, so the safe way to say this: Google Assistant works now, and Matter support is officially promised." Keep that in mind if Matter is the sole reason you are eyeing this unit.

Pricing and where to buy

There is no getting around the fact that this is an expensive, top-tier appliance. On 4 April 2026, the retail price on the US Dreametech store and on Amazon sat at $1,799.99.

In Europe, pricing varies depending on the retailer. On 4 April 2026, it retailed on the Dutch Dreametech store for €1,299, while Coolblue listed it for €1,219. Definitely compare local stores before ordering, because discounts of €80 or more pop up regularly.

Who should buy the Dreame Matrix 10 Ultra and who should skip it

You should buy this robot if:

  • You have a medium to large home with mixed surfaces like tile, parquet, and thick rugs.
  • You hate the idea of a mop pad cleaning your bathroom and then wiping down your kitchen.
  • You have tall door sills between rooms that leave standard robot vacuums stranded.
  • You have pets or long hair that usually wrap around brush rollers every single week.

You should skip this robot if:

  • You live in a compact apartment where the enormous dock will block a hallway.
  • Your budget is under €800, as simpler vacuums handle single-surface flats just fine.
  • All your furniture sits on very low legs, because the 89 mm body still requires some breathing room.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Dreame Matrix 10 Ultra mop pad switching work?

The docking station stores three distinct pairs of mop pads internally. When the robot starts a cleaning cycle for a specific room, such as the bathroom, it mounts the designated set, washes them with 100°C water, and swaps them out before moving to the kitchen or living room to prevent cross-contamination.

How much suction power does the Dreame Matrix 10 Ultra have in Pa?

The vacuum delivers up to 30,000 Pa of maximum suction power. That gives it plenty of force to pull deeply embedded pet hair, sand, and heavy cracker crumbs out of thick rugs and deep floor crevices.

Can the Dreame Matrix 10 Ultra climb high door thresholds?

Yes, it can clear obstacles and raised thresholds up to 3.15 inches high. The drive chassis articulates to lift the robot over raised doorways that usually trap standard vacuums.

Does the Dreame Matrix 10 Ultra support Google Assistant and Matter?

Google Assistant voice control works immediately out of the box for targeted room cleaning. Native Matter protocol compatibility is officially scheduled to roll out via an upcoming over-the-air firmware update.
